Magdalena Płonka is a lecturer on Corporate Social Responsibility in the clothing industry in the post-secondary school of clothing design ISCFD.
She co-authored the first publication in the Polish market on ethical issues in the fashion industry: “Przewodnik po etyce w modzie” [A Guidebook of Ethics in Fashion] by the Polish Humanitarian Action and also “W kierunku odpowiedzialnej mody” [Moving Towards Responsible Fashion] by the Polish Green Network [Polska Zielona Sieć].
She is a graduate of the Fine Arts Academy in Łódź.
After completing her degree as a fashion designer, she created her own collections and prepared others for Polish clothing brands. She also prepared stylizations for films and commercials. Her works have been published and widely commented on in popular and specialized press (among others, in such magazines as ELLE, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Uroda, PANI, Wprost).
She has been awarded many prizes and distinctions in the field of fashion, among others: the Złota Nitka(Golden Thread) Prize and the Srebrna Pętelka (Silver Loop) Prize. In 1999, she was included among the group of the one hundred most influential women in Poland by the magazine PANI.
Since 2010 she has been a court appointed expert in fashion and costume design and also fashion marketing.
Currently she also continues her PhD studies at IADE Creative University/ Lisbon.
